Emily Teel

Emily Teel is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and the owner of Sage Therapy LLC in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Her work is centered around helping individuals and couples navigate the complexities of relationships, intimacy, grief, and life’s difficult transitions. She has a particular passion for working with military members and their spouses, first responders, and the Naval Special Warfare (NSW) community—populations she deeply values and understands. Emily holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Colorado Boulder and a Master of Arts in Marriage & Family Therapy from Northcentral University. She is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in Virginia with specialized training in trauma and PTSD treatment, as well as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). Emily also has a strong clinical focus on relationship and sex therapy, supporting individuals and couples as they navigate intimacy, communication, connection, and other challenges within their relationships. Since 2019 to present, she serves as the Regional Clinical Supervisor for the U.S Navy Chaplain Corps Clinical Pastoral Care Program providing clinical support to active-duty hospital Chaplains throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region. Prior to this role, Emily worked for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in outpatient treatment program, providing care to Veterans experiencing mental health concerns, addiction, and homelessness. In addition to her clinical work at Sage Therapy LLC, Emily owns and manages the Pungo Building, home to Sage Wellness Suites, a collaborative space for wellness

professionals who support systemic, relational, and whole person approaches to care. Through Sage Wellness Suites, Emily is committed to fostering a welcoming environment that encourages collaboration between providers and clients.
